Zen Haircuts // Peach Twins

Song: Peach Twins Band: Zen Haircuts Album: Bygones (EP) Location: Sydney Date of Release: 17 March 2017 Genre: Indie/Punk Reviewer: Charlie-Anne Bailey For Fans Of: DUNE RATS, The Front Bottoms, Modern Baseball

Zen Haircuts are a three-piece indie punk band from Sydney. They released their debut EP "Bygones" on 17th March earlier this year. The EP is a compilation of enjoyable, mellow punk tracks and the album overall is fun to listen to and has a very relaxed vibe behind it.

'Peach Twins' is the first song on the EP. Instrumentally it is a solid track, the melodic aspects are enjoyable, however they tend to get repetitive. The vocals are quite unique and the lyrics are catchy, I found myself singing along by my second listen of the EP. One thing I did notice while listening to Peach Twins is that the intro sounds eerily similar to the intro of 'That’s What You Get' by Paramore. This could easily be a coincidence or something as simple as having the song in the back of your head during the song writing process and subconsciously imitating that sound. Overall, this is a solid debut EP and I look forward to seeing how they grow as artists in any future music.
