'Cycles that were born in the Industrial Age. Now you're running late cause they're not running the trains'
Slowly Slowly have hit a soft spot with me on their new track 'Aliens'. A tale of existing in a harsh reality and trying to find the best way to escape what makes us just another cog in the machine. Being a middle class nine to fiver, I related to this song in a second.
The song beings with Ben's vocals and some nice chords, I'll admit it, Ben's voice is incredible. As good as it is, the words he is singing make it even better. It's a harsh reality to really take a look at one's self and find the place in society where you fit in, or even worse, don't fit. The song builds perfectly as layer upon layer is added and the aggressive nature of the song continues as the lyrics become harsher and the song explodes when the whole band kicks and each member really showcase what they can do on their respective instruments.
I'm not going to lie, I've been a fan of slowly slowly for a while now and this is my favourite track they have released. The song captures exactly how I feel about the way we live and it does so in a catchy way that kept my head nodding throughout.
I assure you, when you listen to this track if you don't feel it, you won't feel anything.
