For Fans Of: Apate, Pulled Apart By Horses,
Life Pilot have released two great singles off of their sophomore EP “Too Hot For Killing”. I didn’t think much of the first single ‘One’, until I heard the EP in full. The short yet energetic nu-metal track only lasts for a brief 60 seconds but is a very good entry into the chugs and and hallowed lyrics you’re about to be welcomed with.
I came across their second single ‘Next Question’ sometime last week and immediately shared it! The power and conviction behind this song, although is very desperate and painful sounding at times; is extreme. How vocalist Angus Long is able to maintain a conversation and keep the show going actually amazes me. All the best for those vocal chords. This song ruled.
‘IVEE GOT THIS RINGINGGG IN MY HEAADDDDDD’
‘Too Hot For Killing’ is the fourth track on the release and starts off with an eerie hollow sounding riff, when the vocals fade the mood of the piece is cemented and everything is cranked up a notch. I have to admit the following riff does sound a little like Creeds’ ‘Higher’. ‘Too Hot For Killing’ is what I imagine Creed front-man Scott Straps’ head sounds like in the wake of no song living up to ‘Higher’. Paranoid delusion. I did enjoy the subtle bass sections and chuggs bleeding over the drums. It was tasty.
'Knife Box' sounds like it will be a crowd favourite, I could see my self yelling "JUST WHAT IS IT YOU EXPECT FROM ME" (not like ive never had to) The feeling of the song almost stopping and skipping really vibed with me, It did sound like the instruments and members were calling it a day, too strung out and just off it! This came trough very well in my opinion. It's one of the better endings to a record i've seen this year.
This bad boy drops on Friday 13th, you can grab it here!
