The Pits // Salt [Single]

Song: Salt

Band: The Pits

Area: Newcastle

Date of release: 11-10-17

Genre: Steampunk Swing Punk

Reviewer: Byron Hall

For Fans Of: Panic At The Disco!, The Brobecks

The Pits are a pretty new band to hit the scene, only forming just over seven months ago. You really wouldn't have been able to tell unless you did your homework. (I couldn't) Instantly this song reminded me of The Brobecks- combining a multitude of instruments from various genres. The polish that these folks already have is just fucking rad!

Q) why don't people eat clowns

I cannot wait to see this and their full set, perhaps in orchestra. I've always loved the swing punk genre, even more so now! The sweet combination of the power metal vocals subduing you into this stage of carnival frenzied breakdowns is just to die for..

I really can't pick this song apart THAT much, the breakdown fits so perfectly, sure it could have been stripped back more but the sound it's just so very tight! I just sincerely hope this isn't a one hit wonder.

"I am a pawn, she is my queen I will love her unconditionally"

The lyrics are quiet unique and dark, I've linked the lyric video below!

As soon as I hear about their new record- which I'm hoping is in the works. Gonna have to give it a gold old spin, I'm a big fan of this all, textually it things so many little licks and gorgeous work from the BRA(SS) BOIZ.

A) because they taste funny

A follow up single is on its way, sometime before the end of the year! Click on the album artwork to be taken to their Facebook page!
