The "Therapy" EP is the follow up release to the 2015 self-titled album by this Sydney-based Metal/Hip-Hop outfit. Lead single 'Slave To The Beat' shows the band’s strengths and development over the past two years. Lyrically, it is a huge step up from their previous material, this time focusing on the corruption and dishonesty lingering within the music industry.

Managers and record companies seem to focus more on their own greedy, selfish agendas rather than the band or musician’s talents. Reality TV shows such as X-Factor and The Voice are the biggest contenders for this as the audience is blinded by the glamour and popularity and don’t really know what goes on behind the curtain.

The rest of the EP carries on in a similar vein, focusing on current social issues that are really important to talk about and raise awareness on. Having self-belief and going against the odds in the face of medical issues and societal pressures (Endless), using alcohol and drugs as coping mechanisms (Detox), grieving over the death of a loved one (First Degree) and dealing with mental illness and emotional issues (Therapy). Musically, there are plenty of tight breakdowns, catchy melodic rhythms and atmospheric, off-kilter beats with vocalist Matthew’s rapid, hard-edged, free flowing rapping over the top. It’s a very polished and well-constructed EP with plenty of depth both musically and lyrically.
