"A soul diseased, a dark plague infecting me You said the cure was you then you abandoned me, I can scrub at the outside though I’ll never clean the memory"

Melbourne band ATLVS may have only been on the scene for a short minute but their list of accomplishments is quickly growing. From playing their first ever BANG show a few months back and are set to play Take Down Fest later this year! The boys have also dropped two singles in the past 9 months; 'Epiphany' and 'Insinuate'. Clearly keen to build on this momentum they have been playing a slew of live shows.

On Tuesday they premiered their latest single and music video, for their much hyped third release 'Love' over on Hysteria Mag. It sticks to their signature fat baselines with almost rhythmic screams but pushes further with more intricate neck work and a better mix then the previous two singles, It's safe to say it has seen a great reception.

The music video features a guitar play through filmed by none other than Ocean Sleeper's clean vox and guitarist Lonei who goes through a myriad of pans and closeups on the necks of the guitars. The track features a signature riff throughout heavy breakdowns and gravity blasts. In the first thirty seconds you are succumbed to sweet licks and interesting lyricism revolving around aspects of rejection and coming full circle through acceptance.

We reached out to Francis, vocalist of ATLVS who went on to say “I started writing 'Love' when i was younger, to help deal with a particularly nasty break-up of a long term partner. It felt juvenile and at the time it was scrapped" which totally means this may have never even made it to being a demo, let alone the third single from the band.

'Love' sees the band mature from their previous releases, Francis alluding to the growth of the band being the key factor to finally being comfortable to work on such a delicate piece "after working with the song more once ATLVS developed - and dealing with my own emotions after a few attempts on both our parts to reconcile our differences, it finally felt right."

Ayo Unify, I'm pretty sure these boys will gladly open next years festival!
