Band: Zampa Song: Roomy Area: Newcastle Genre: Alternative /Alternative rock. Release date: 15/08/2017 Reviewer: Carina Annecchini For fans of: Stranger than friends, Arcades and lions Newcastle is raging with some amazing alternative rock bands that are taking over the local music scene right now and this is the first time that I’ve had the pleasure of listening to Zampa. These four rad boys are from newy and their track ‘Roomy’ is a great start. I believe there will be many more rad tunes to come from these guys in the near future. ‘Roomy’ is their debut single and I think it was a fantastic song for setting the vibe of the band. The overall song was composed very well and is definitely something easy to listen to. The track has this beautiful mellow tone that you just get addicted to but also still holds a kind of edge within in the piece. The production throughout this song is very good, they infused all the sounds together so perfectly that you don’t feel like a particular area is overpowering the other, it just all blends and creates a smooth tone. There is no harmonies throughout the track which is something I think would really add to the piece just to give it more layers and intricacy But I think the way they added the reverb with the vocals kind of makes up for the emptiness. With the lyrics there is a lot of emotion to it and when you listen to the words that are being sung you can understand what the vocalist if feeling and you just feel really connected to the song. I personally really enjoyed this track and definitely see these guys really hitting Newcastle hard with their rad music. I am excited to hear more from these rad dudes and hopefully will be reviewing more of their songs. Vocals: 9.5/10 Guitars: 7.5/10 Bass: 7.5/10 Drums: 8.5/10 Production: 9/10 Lyrics: 8.5/10 Songwriting: 7.5/10 Personal Enjoyment: 8.5/10
