Convex are a melodic metalcore band from Port Macquarie who seem to making a rather sick name for themselves in the scene lately. I was lucky enough to have a sneak peak at the video for their new single Chrysalis a few days prior to the release and can honestly say I was very impressed with what the boys have come up with.

The overall look of the video was amazing and the concept behind the video itself was portrayed really well by all those involved. The boys spend a great portion of the video being followed by a darkness (the stunning Bonita Alcock) which seems to have a negative effect on each of them until they eventually become a group and ‘break free’ from her hold. The whole concept really compliments the meaning and lyrics behind the song of ‘waiting to be free from the shell that’s suffocating me’ and sends a really strong message about not letting hard times break you but instead pushing through it and coming out stronger and transformed in the end.
