Song: Losing Sleep Band: Fiveash Record: Losing Sleep (Single) Location: Western Sydney Date of release: 20/9/2017 Genre: Pop Punk Reviewer: Daniel Balcombe For Fans Of: Jimmy Eat World, Knuckle Puck, Real Friends 'Tell me what you want so I can let you down again' Although Fiveash are a new band, they aren't new to the Aussie music scene bringing members of 'We Take The Night' and previously reviewed band 'Sixteen Days' together and judging by their debut release, they've got some good times ahead. I was lucky enough to play with them and catch their first show and I was impressed right away and they did not let me down on their debut release. The production quality is sweet on the whole track with each layer of instrument cutting through nicely and it's super clean. The track begins with a nice dirty guitar riff and then the band kicks in with a pounding rhythm. The vocals kick in and I'm instantly thinking of Jimmy Eat World, the song builds nicely with some nice little guitar licks added in to bring some flavor to the pounding drums and bass. The song is catchy as hell with a big sing along style chorus and some nice half time thrown in to get your fists pumping. The track has great dynamics, between the bass driven verses, the big sing along choruses and the nice little guitar solo thrown in, it kept me interested and kept my head nodding right along. Listening to the track you wouldn't think it's a debut release but the lads in Fiveash know what they are doing. Overall I'm a fan of Fiveash and can't wait to catch the lads again and see what their next release will be. Vocals: 7/10 Guitars: 8/10 Bass: 8.5/10 Drums: 9/10 Lyrics: 7.5/10 Songwriting: 8/10
