Tired Eyes are a relatively new band to the Aussie music scene hailing from Brisbane and bringing us melodic rock that drips with an emotional urgency that will grip you from the first listen.

Their Debut single ‘A Place, A Space, A Symphony’ kicks off with the drums and bass keeping a constant beat whilst the slightly delayed effects of the guitar adds in some nice ambience creating an almost ‘dream’ like quality to the track. The vocalist voice is smooth but also consists of a type of urgency that intrigued me, I really dug the lyrics throughout and as the song progresses the vocalist brings in some screams, which I wasn’t expecting but I did love and it really added the right amount of aggression to the track.

As the track progresses the chorus kicks in and the falsetto notes from the vocalist hit home. The track isn’t necessarily a ‘heavy’ track but it hits hard on the emotional front. The guitar tones throughout are spot on and the bridge has a nice little syncopated riff, that makes way for a breakdown of sorts but not with the over clichéd double bass feeling.

I really dug the vocalist voice throughout the whole track. As I mentioned the added screams really add a bit more to the track and I love the urgency the whole band brings as the song builds throughout. With a nice little keyboard/synth outro it really wraps the song in a tight little package and left me wanting to hear more from them.

The production quality is top notch throughout the track. Nothing over powers anything and as I mentioned, I really dug the guitar tones throughout as they cut through more cleanly then being over distorted.

Overall the debut single from Tired Eyes hits it right where you want to be hit. The track really comes across as a track from a band who has been plugging away for years (maybe they have in other bands) and it’s a really polished, well written and produced perfectly. It’s heavy enough for fans of Heavier music to dig it, but it’s also melodic and ‘clean’ enough for it to be loved by a wider range of Rock listeners. A great first outing by a band who I am intrigued to see what plans they have for their future endeavours.
