'Detachment' is the latest single from the Melbourne-based five piece Progressive Metalcore band since the departure of guitarist David Smythe and the addition of Robbie Blaich. There is a new-found energy and compelling darkness to their sound since the release of previous single 'Wither' back in October last year. It shows both a maturity and an improvement in songwriting. This song is, in a nutshell, about confronting mental health issues head on and accepting how fucked up the world is

Lead vocalist Detlyn has majorly stepped up with his vocal delivery, adding more urgency and furiosity to his screaming range. The band also seem to be experimenting more with their sound production, adding delicate melodic layers to break up the heavier guitar riffs and breakdowns. By doing this, it shows that they’re trying harder to become more than just another generic metalcore band and give themselves a unique edge to their sound.
