If you’re looking for some of the greatest up-and-coming death core music from the local scene, then look no further than to the new single from Brisbane boys, Of Misery, entitled ‘Black Noose’.
Lead vocalist, Charley Watson, had near flawless vocals on this track, with lyrics so captivating that it will be stuck in your head for days. His ability to clearly demonstrate the emotion in his voice makes the lyrics even more powerful than it otherwise could be. The strong and powerful guitar riffs present throughout the song, both in the foreground and the background, add such a strong dynamic to the music that makes the song stand out to others in its genre. The song has a strong and punchy bass line throughout the whole 5:84 seconds, which helps bring all the elements of the song together, making it a strong and essential aspect to 'Black Noose'.
In a scene with strong metal bands being produced left, right and centre, Of Misery needed to up the ante with this single to stand out, and that is exactly what they did. With this being the first single off their debut EP ( "Black Noose" out August 10th), we can only assume that the rest of the EP will be full of punchy riffs, strong vocals, and captivating lyrics.
