Phil Wolfendale // Lemon

It's been a long time coming but this Adelaide turned Melbourne-based singer songwriter has finally released his debut solo single "Lemon". Lyrically and musically, this is very different to his previous material when he fronted the band Acrasia. It's packed with a ferocious yet bouncy indie-pop energy as Phil sings about the complexities of being in a relationship (And we don't know who to be. We're like diamonds in the sea). There are raw, husky undercurrents to his vocal delivery as he pours his heart out and reveals some personal issues that he's been through. This is really telling especially in the last part of the song (And I hope you're happy now).
